Bud PR is an award-winning communications agency that helps challenger technology brands turn bold ideas into real business outcomes. Bud PR had been using Slack within the organisation from the very outset and had grown inline with the organisation. The leadership team at Bud PR came to Bryd with one simple question… “how can we get more out of our investment in Slack” 

Bud were very familiar with Channels and messaging but what about Workflows? Canvas? Third-party and/or custom applications? The Bud team were looking for guidance on how they could make use of these new features in a way that would increase productivity, alignment and engagement across the organisation. 

Guided by our usage review framework, the Bryd team quickly undertook 360 degree review of Slack at Bud and uncovered a whole set of use cases for the team to implement. Take a look at what we uncovered and configured as a result 👇

Improving onboarding for customers and new hires:

As a result of our work the Bud team were able to standardise the way they onboard new customers and employees into their organisation. Whilst each client is different, we identified way to streamline the onboarding process by distributing standardised communications via a Canvas and Workflows to reduce the time it takes to get up and running with Bud PR 

Improving account team alignment 

As the business grows and the team is entering new markets, Bud wanted to standardise the way their account teams are engaging and collaborating to move work along for a particular account. As a result of the work we proposed a new way for account teams to collaborate in Slack by: 

✅ Configuring standardised account plan & update templates in Slack

✅ Configuring repeatable workflow notifications in Slack for teams to communicate updates 

Improving internal operations

Like most organisations, keeping track of approvals for operational processes in a scalable way were beginning to be a challenge for the organisation. Beginning with Accounts Payable, Bryd were able to configure and implement:

✅ A workflow which captures key information about an invoicing organisation

✅ A simple emoji reaction system which keeps track of the current status of an invoice 

Improving Slack aptitude

A key challenge that was highlighted during the evaluation of Slack across Bud was that each employee had varied levels of understanding and application of Slack’s feature set. To address this challenge Bryd configured a custom Slack Enablement Bot which drip feeds key information about to Slack to the whole organisation
